Our Commitment to Privacy

We are Advantage Insurance LLC – Barry G. Gustafson Agency (which we refer to, described below, as “us”, “we,” or “our”). We take your privacy seriously and are publishing this Privacy Policy so that you can be informed of how we collect, use, and share information.

This Privacy Notice also provides you with information about the practices we employ with respect to information collected through our website, www. advantageinsllc.com/ which we refer to as the Site.

Personal Information We May Collect

“Personal Information” is information that could be used to personally identify you, such as your name, address, email address, phone number, social security number, and the like.

We may collect Personal Information in a number of ways. For example, we will have access to Personal Information about customers that is obtained from sources such as applications, policies, insurance contracts, and other forms related to the insurance products and services placed and sold.

In addition, we may collect Personal Information ourselves through the Site. Although you may browse the Site without giving us any Personal Information, and submitting any Personal Information is completely voluntary, we may collect Personal Information in the following ways:

  • Through your submission of information by filling out forms available on interactive features of the Site, such as the “Get a Free Quote,” “Make a Payment,” and “Make a Claim” links on the Site; and
  • Through your submission of information through any “Contact Us” or similar links on the Site that invite you to interact with us, including your name, address, email address and phone number, as well as any information you voluntarily provide us with your submission.

Automatic Collection of Information Through Our Site

Like most websites, we may automatically gather certain technical information about your visit to the Site and store it in log files. This information includes the internet domain from which you access the Site, the IP address of the computer from which you access the Site, the browser type, the date and time you access the Site, and the URLs of the individual pages you visit. This automatically gathered data may include information provided through the use of “cookies”, which we describe in more detail below. We use this information to collect data on the number of visitors to the Site, to administer and develop the Site, and to track users’ movements around the Site. This information is not personally identifiable, and as a general matter you can visit the Site without telling us who you are or revealing any personal information about yourself. However, we may link the automatically-collected data we collect about your visit to the Site to Personal Information in connection with our use of your Personal Information.

Cookies

When you use the Site, we may store some information on your computer in the form of a “cookie” or similar file. “Cookies” are small data text files that are either used for the duration of a session (“session cookies”) or saved on a user’s hard drive in order to identify that user the next time he or she logs on to the Site (“persistent cookies”). We may use session cookies to identify users logging onto the Site, and these cookies are deleted from the user’s server soon after the session ends and are not collected or saved. We may use persistent cookies to recognize you when you return to the Site and analyze visitor behavior.

Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually change your browser’s settings to prevent that. Because each browser is different, you should look at your browser’s “Help” menu to learn how to modify these settings. If you do disable cookies, you may not be able to access certain sections of the Site, and this may make your experiences on the Site less efficient.

How We May Use the Information we Collect

We will use the Personal Information we collect through the Site in connection with the operation of our business. For example, if you contact us through the Site, we will use the Personal Information you provide to respond to your inquiry and process your request, payment, or claim, as applicable, and to help us provide you with any other information or services that you have requested. We may use the information you provide to confirm your identity, provide proper billing, and service your policies and accounts.

We will also use the information we collect to improve our products and services, to develop and offer new products and services, and to perform other activities that are related to our business, as permitted by law.

In addition, unless you specify that you would prefer not to hear from us, we may use the email address that you provide us when you log onto the Site or otherwise contact us to contact you for promotional or other purposes. You may have these communications terminated at any time by contacting us or by clicking on any “unsubscribe” link contained in a promotional email. We will use reasonable efforts to discontinue any such communications following your request, although you should be aware that due to production schedules, you may receive communications already in production at the time your request is received.

We may also use anonymized data or de-identified data for analytical purposes, such as to understand more about our customers and our industry.

How We Share Information

We may share Personal Information (including information about our transactions and experiences with you, such as claims and payments) for our internal business purposes, to help meet your product and service needs.

We may also provide Personal Information to our trusted service providers who use that information only to conduct business on our behalf. For example, they may handle our data management, email distribution, and promotions management. Or, we may share name, address, and coverage information as necessary to process an insurance claim. We provide our preferred service providers with the information they need to perform their services and work with them to respect and protect your information.

If we were to undertake a sale or merger transaction, both Personal Information and non-personally identifiable information are generally part of the transferred assets acquired or transferred in such transactions. We will not otherwise sell any of your Personal Information to anyone for any purpose.
We will release Personal Information if we believe that such action is appropriate to (1) comply with law, (2) enforce any terms of use applicable to the Site, (3) identify, contact or bring legal action against any persons who are causing or we believe will cause injury to us or a third party, or (4) otherwise protect the rights, property or personal safety of us, our employees, our Agencies, Site users or others.
Other than as set forth in this privacy policy, we will share the Personal Information with outside parties only with your consent or as required by law.

How to Update or Change Your Information

If you have provided us with any information and believe it is incorrect or has been changed since you provided it, or if you would like us to remove any Personal Information from our records, please contact us using the “Contact Us” link available through the Site.

Data Security

In order to prevent unauthorized access to or disclosure of any Personal Information you provide to us, we have put into place standard physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect.

Unfortunately, no electronic data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we believe that we use reasonable measures to protect Personal Information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information transmitted or otherwise provided to us or received from us. This is especially true for information that is transmitted via e-mail that is unprotected until it reaches our servers.

Other Sites; Third Party Collection of Information

The Site may contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices employed by other websites. We do not control third parties” collection or use of your information to serve interest-based advertising. However, these third parties may provide you with ways to choose not to have your information collected or used in this way. Users are encouraged to review the privacy policy of any website linked to from the Site.

Do Not Track Requests

Currently, certain browsers, including Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari and Internet Explorer, offer a “do not track” (or, “DNT”) option. This option, using a technology known as a DNT header, sends a signal to websites visited by the user about the user’s DNT preference, if any, set on the browser. Our Site does not currently commit to responding to browsers’ DNT signals. We cannot make this commitment because no common industry standard for DNT has been adopted by industry groups, technology companies, or regulators.
Changes

We may change our privacy policy from time to time. We encourage you to refer to this policy on an ongoing basis so that you understand our current privacy policy. This policy was last modified on the date indicated above.

We welcome your questions, comments, and concerns about privacy. Please send us any and all feedback pertaining to privacy, or any other issue by contacting us through the “Contact Us” link on the Site.
